Students will be learning how to use a word processing program, spreadsheet and presentation program.  We use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) but you don't need to have these programs at home for students to work on them. (they are extremely expensive).  There is an excellent software program, that is free, called Libre Office.  It can open and save the majority of Microsoft Office files and is every bit as good as Microsoft Office.  Below is a link to their website where you can download a copy for either Windows, Mac or Linux.  Only download this if you have high speed internet access, otherwise ask your child to have me burn the program to a CD and they can bring it home for you to install.
