About Anishinabe

Vision Statement: Educating and empowering through cultural revitalization.

Mission Statement: We exist to engage urban Indigenous students by integrating and reclaiming Native American identities, cultures, and languages through authentic academic experience.

Anishinabe Academy has been enriching the lives of its’ students, their families, and our community through dedication to the principles of our seven grandfather teachings: Truth, Respect, Honesty, Love, Wisdom, Humility and Courage.

As a MPS community school focusing on Native American language and culture, our values are fundamental to the foundation of all our programs, ensuring every child learns to value our seven teachings, self and others.

We provide a safe, positive, learning environment that encourages the scholastic achievement of our students, as well as the development of their culture and social lives.

At Anishinabe Academy, we strive to develop the whole person. So when our students get promoted, they will possess the confidence, compassion and character to make their future and ours the best it can be.
